Not at all. The best way to learn is study and observation. When you learn by watching or studying there is very little cost. Sometime when you learn from experience there are serious costs.

That said, some learns can only be learned by experience, but many people don't think things through and end up learning a lesson the wrong way.

Look at all the meth heads out there. They really didn't need to learn that meth was bad by doing way to much of it, they could have simply looked around.

Experience isn't the best teacher, but some people aren't smart enough to qualify for a better teacher and threw their own stupidity they are forced to learn the hard way.

We are creatures of habit.
What we percieve of something is what we get out of it, whether your own situation or someone else's.
If you don't like what you're experiencing whether it be an observance or personal situation, I believe the best teacher would be experimentation. The experience is your lab, and you the scientist. You need to create certain formulea and if it doesn't prove to your liking, you try something different.
It's one thing experiencing something and thinking " I do not like this " It's another thing to try and do something about it, and become an active participant in it.

yes because I never learn anything by being told certain things because people have deceived me all kinds of ways. & they call me stubborn or hard-headed, but when I rebel against them & explore new things on my own, then I learn that I got much pleasure out of what I tried & if I would've listened to those idiots, I would've been held back & not been happy with trying something new.

yea, it's because a mistake you have done with the consequence u hav faced affects your conscience. it definitely is the best teacher at lot of times, but somethings or people rather, never change.

Not for me. I learn from watching and analyzing others. I have friends who have to learn from experiences, though.
Be careful though, there are some things you want to learn without having to experience them.

ohh yea. i smoked [[or at least tried]] once in my life, dropped the cigarette on my shirt and nearly burned to death. plus, after i got out of the hospital my mother and daddy knocked me out. then all of my friends stayed away from me at school [[when they found out i lit a bud]] and i nearly completely dropped my reputation. back then i thought they were all being unfair, but if that day never of had happened, i would be smoking to this day, feeding my body a greater risk of cancer. *true story*
