I'm Australian. Just asking if your conservative government has affected how you guys see yourselves and how that relates to your sense of pride in being a gay American.

yes, to all of your questions. it's pretty pathetic that he had to "use" his attempt to amend the Constitution to legally discriminate against us. he drummed a lot of bigots out of the closet, and made it "cool" to be openly homophobic. a president who tries to impose his personal beliefs upon federal law and mix religion with politics has no business in office. after his campaign, there have been a lot of states who've rushed to amend state constitutions to ban gay marriage. shamefully, I live in Missouri, which was the first state to do so. this country has taken several steps backwards with Bush in office. all the lies, corruption and scandal....and he still "stays the course." he wants a damn giant fence built across the entire US/Mexican border. then what? fence the Canadian border too? who else does he hate? where else is he going to start a war? his actions only make me all the more determined to fight for equal rights!

yes! the bush administration has put down our pride as gays...he also puts down those of otha minorities as well. dnt think just because Dr. Martin Luther King Jr marched to free the blacks, that slavery was demolished. the government is still racist, and i neva heard of anyway the bush administration has supported us...i mean, gay marriage has always been illegal, but i also remember that the state of Connecticut or one of them NE states okayed it (or was in the process of okaying it), and i think a few more states was at it...but the bush administration put a complete halt on it! bush IS NOT a good president, neva was, n neva will be...we must IMPEACH for a better america, DRIVE OUT DA BUSH REGIME!!! btw, bush is one of em heavy right-wing christians from a Texas village with a C-average in H.S. Hello?! dont that tell u that America is bein misled by a redneck, racist, country, homophobic, idiotic, stupid cowboy!?!?! get em out, n DONT fall for his LIES!!!

the legislative branch is now democrat.
in 2008 the presidential election will go democratic.
due to fiscal irresponsibility , the republicans
will not be back in power for a generation.
they had their chance and blew it.
