Against South Africa at Headingly in the '99 World cup.He made 120 not out so Australia beat SA in the Super 6's to reach the Semis.This was the famous match in which Gibbs dropped a catch when Steve Waugh was on 56.

In this game Gibbs appeared to catch him at 56, but dropped the ball as he went to throw the ball up in the air in celebration. Waugh was rumoured to say to him "you just dropped the World Cup" after the incident (although he later confirmed this not to be true).
