Perhaps it's not partitioned or formatted? Maybe there's no active partition?

I am assuming you are running windows xp on your computer.
You should have Windows Xp CD/Disk to troubleshoot.
As i am not sure what error message you are getting,
follow the steps in this order:
1)Reboot your computer, Press F8>Windows Advanced Menu options
Select Last Known good Configuration
If that fails, restart again and press F8>Select Disable automatic restart on system failure.you will get an error message , based on that we cn perform troubleshooting.
If you get any error message, eg Black screen or some file missing
Boot from the Win XP Disk and go to recovery console
-Run chkdsk /p
If Chkdsk /p says, chkdsk has found one or more errors on volume
-Run chkdsk /r
or
If chkdsk /p says, chkdsk has found one or more unrecoverable errors on disk>>its time to contact Tech shop.
Chkdsk will take around 1 hour.after it completes type exit and restart computer to see whether it bworks or not.
If it doesnt work, Boot to recovery console again and Run repair on computer.
Good Luck
