Discharge in pregnancy is VERY NORMAL! ! Pregnancy increases discharge, and it only gets worse in later pregnancy.

If the discharge is thick and white, it's normal. If it's bloody discharge, that can be a danger sign...but not always. I've known people who spotted in early pregnancy and then went on to have a healthy pregnancy and baby. Sometimes the doctor will prescribe bed rest. If the doctor said that he thinks she won't go full term and it's because of incompetent cervix, then he may be able to put in a stitch called a cerclage that will help hold the cervix closed. You probably shouldn't have sex with your wife until you know what's going on down there, if the doctor thinks there might be a problem. I had spotting when I was pregnant with my second daughter, but it was because I had swelling in the vagina, and when my husband and I had sex I would start bleeding a little bit.
My first two pregnancies ended in early miscarriage. It's a hard thing to deal with...but if it happens, it won't be because you or your wife did anything wrong. Usually a miscarriage in the first trimester is because something is wrong with the baby...it's nature's way of dealing with it, and it's really sad...but after my two miscarriages, I went on to have two beautiful baby girls, so it is possible to have a normal pregnancy after a couple of miscarriages.
I'll say a prayer for your wife and baby...I hope everything turns out all right.

Did you ask your doctor why he didn't think your wife would carry to term? Did he say anything about the discharge? Some discharge is normal during pregnancy and is usually okay as long as there isn't a foul odor. I honestly don't know if you should worry, since I don't know why the doctor said what he did. Try not to worry. If something does happen to the baby, it wasn't meant to be. I miscarried my first child and went on to have 3 healthy children.Good luck to you and your wife!

If the doctor really said she didnt think she would go full term, she probably wont and there may be a problem. Just wait for the ultrasound and go from there. It may be nothing at all. Worrying wont get you anywhere, just pray or whatever you do for your faith and if its meant to be it will be. Take care, good luck.

with my first i had a pink discharge, on and off, for the first three months. she was born 5 days before her due date.
my sister in-law is currently pregnant w/her fourth child, she would actually have a period in her beginning months, shes now 7-months. try not to worry, the baby needs to grow in a stress-free environment. Congratulations!

I have five children of mine own and this is normal.
You have nothing to worried about ...........this is normal it is just her hormones kicking in and this will happen throughout the pregnancy. Her immune system is getting stronger for her to carry that baby and all of her organs are adjust to the change. Just keep doing what you are doing and don't stress yourself because the first three months of your pregnancy is delicate.
