mumble mumble what? i think you are asking if you can get away without replacing the t-belt at the same time, and do you have to remove the t belt at tdc. if the belt has alot of miles on it, or close to the suggested service intereval, change it. and always do this at tdc. dont leave it on there cuz u think it might go another 50k, thats a risky gamble

Brother, you don't want to mess with no timing belt, thou I've never heard of a water pump running off of this, are you sure you're not referring to the serpentine belt?

Because if you're even asking about tdc and you say you've done this job before when a timing belt is at least an 8 hour job in itself, why they'd hook a water pump to it when the timing belt is completely responsible for cam and crank shaft timing, two absolutely essential pieces of engine operation, the water pump is a mere accessory here and it just doesn't make sense to run a semi-vital accessory off the same belt that runs super vital parts.

More likely than not it's the serpentine belt, and there's no timing connected to that. If you can see the entire belt that runs your H20 pump, that's the serpentine belt, because you normally can not even see the timing belt.

I'd check your manual to be sure, I suppose in this day and age anything is possible, but if it really is the timing belt then I'd highly recommend you take it to a qualified mechanic, and plan on spending around $600 - $800 or so.
