how did you know you had a miscarriage? i am about 10 weeks pregnant and i am experiencing sharp stomach pains. they come and go like every other day. does this mean anything cuz with my previous pregnancy i never had any sharp pains?

my close friend had one a miscarriage and she said she had intense pain and severe bleeding. then the baby just fell out so she was rushed to the ER.

however, my cousin had a miscarriage and she said she didn't even know. she had no bleeding and no pains. her obgyn told her she had a miscarriage at her appointment.

Last august i had miscarriage at week 11 1/2 . At that time i had blood spotting i go to doctor she said just take a rest, take it easy. All night long no blood spotting but when i wake up in the morning i feel cramp, and i find a blood cloth, after that start heavy bleeding and feel pain because of cramping. I go to ER doctor said i need to had d/c because bleeding to much he cant save the baby. Most miscarriages occur during the first trimester. Signs of a potential miscarriage are: Bleeding (with or without pain). Bleeding is the symptom most commonly experienced, such as mild spotting, persistent bleeding Heavy Bleeding, or Passage of Large Clots
Other warning signs may be: Cramps (menstrual-like), Aching of the Lower Back ,Passage of Tissue SAVE any tissue that is expelled-it should be examined to determine whether the miscarriage was complete or partial (see below).]
Note: Blood will be red to brown in color. If a clear fluid is discharged, this could indicate rupture of the amniotic sac membranes ("water has broken"). Call a doctor promptly.]
However, there are plenty of women who have bleeding during early pregnancy who do not end up having a miscarriage.
Hope its help you

Some people have sharp pains and other people don't experience pain when they miscarry. I would call your doctor and tell him your symptoms. If he thinks you may be miscarrying he will want to see you. I had a miscarriage with my first child. I didn't have any pain and only a small amount of bleeding. When I went to the doctors they told me the fetus had stopped growing several weeks before and that I would probably have a miscarriage soon. After another week, I still didn't have a miscarriage, so I had to have a D&C. Not once did I ever have sharp pains. Please call your doctor and see what he says. It's probably nothing to worry about . Good luck to you and your baby.

It really depends on how far along you are on how intense the pain will be. Further along, more intense. But, pains do not mean anything a lot of the time. It could be stretching, which is common. If you look it up it is actually common to have pains in your stomach early on in pregnancy. I had a miscarraige but it was because I was bleeding that I found out..no pain until it actually came. If you are worried, ask your doctor of course..But, I would not worry unless you start to bleed or the pain becomes unbearable.

Unfortunately the only way you are really going to know , is talk to your doctor. Get them to do an ultrasound.

My friend just had a miscarriage, and she had spotting from day 1. Which made it more complicated. She had ultrasounds and was told there was a sac, but with the spotting not stopping, she had another one at 9wks. There was still a sac but no foetus.

She had no pain, no cramping.

It's probably your uterus stretching. I had a miscarriage, I started by spotting, I was spotting/bleeding on and off Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning I had cramps and heavy bleeding.. I was 12 weeks. Long as you aren't bleeding, try not to worry!

I have had one miscarriage. I didn't know i had miscarried. I was going in for my second appt. and was going to hear the baby's heartbeat, and she couldn't find it. The baby had stopped growing at 8weeks. I didn't have any pains or any bleeding. You might want to go to the hospital and get it checked out. Its better to make sure the baby is ok then to wait and it be too late!!!!

sharp pains could just be your uterus growing. try to elevate your feet and take a break, it could be a muscle strain. if you start spotting or bleeding you should go see your ob/gyn.
