The divorce is underway, she has moved another guy in with her, but the separation is still pretty new (6 weeks). She was mean and nasty in the marriage, so I am not looking to be close friends with her, but I think it might be easier and smoother to be friends to some extent. It's better (and cheaper) than to be enemies, I suspect.

You won't even care about being her friend in a year! It's hard to be freshly divorced! I know, been there, done that! If you have kid's with her you have to be friends. If you don't- I say sever all ties with her! Sound's like you may be heartbroken/lonely/sad etc. Maybe you don't know how to feel? I would get over her fast! She is a naughty girl- how could she move in with another guy already? She sounds like Drama to me. Unnecessary drama- because you are divorced! You will come out ahead because you didn't move in with some HO. You will be all the better for that! Keep your head up! You sound like a very nice guy that will find some one who will treat you right!

Friends no, civil yes..
Look, its only been a month and a half, and she already has moved in another guy, either she was cheating on u prior, or, she's extremely stupid for moving a guy in she hardly knows..
You should be civil as u are both adults and did at one time atleast care for one another, but friendship is hard to do.. someone always gets hurt, either u give out to much info and it comes back to haunt u down the road, or jealousy creeps in, whether from the parties involved, or when you bring new people Bf/Gf's into the picture, as most people want to start a new with u , and leave the past where it was in the past.. Very few actually can be "friends" after.. some can be civil.. and other just end up hating each other for all eternity..
You can be friendly with out being friends..

He needs to start up protecting a diary of her behaviour and no count number how unnecessary it ought to seem every time she behaves like this he could ring the police. A CCTV is a sturdy concept, and atleast it is going to provide him some convenience. a buddy of mine had an ex who behaved like this and it took over 18 months for issues to be taken care of out. He also needs to verify there is continuously a witness round even as she looks - because the police will ensue if SHE starts off putting forward he has threatened her. strong success.

You have a right to be happy as well - and if you haven't fully moved on then a friendship is out of the question since you will only be reminded of how miserable you are with her. You can stay civil, but don't stay out of your way just make things convenient for her. YOU are what matters and how you feel.

Just because you do not love someone and do not want to live with them and have sex with them does not mean that you cannot be friends with them or like them.
Much better to be friends than enemies I think.

It's better to be as cordial as possible, but you don't have to be friends with her if she's been that horrible throughout the relationship. Go on with your life, there's someone who would appreciate you in time.

I assuming you don't have children? Divide assests amicably, and be done with it. You only hurt yourself by trying to be friends. She'll play you till you're dry! Women suck that way!
