Do you need a special kind of CD? I mean, can you actually download a game demo on your computer, and then play it in your PS2?? Or, is it just to try out on your pc? I've seen download options for game demos, just curious.............Also, if you can do this, is there any particular sites that best to use or anything else maybe I need to know before trying it. Any special system requirements?? ( I have a brand new HP pavillion, 1G RAM, Intel 420, WIN XP, media center edition pc) . Or am I asking too much- is it possible???.

For the most part - no, you cannot download a PS2 game onto your computer and then play it on your PS2. The PS2 uses special black DVDs. One of the first things a PS2 game does when loading is to check whether or not its on one of the special black DVDs. Now I don't know much about game demos. I wouldn't be suprised if they don't check this as they're intended to be free.

If you're comfortable with a soldering iron, there are Mod chips out there that will allow you to play burned games on your PS2. However, you should know that the more recent games check to see if your PS2 is using a known mod chip, and if they detect it, the game will not run.

in case you would possibly want to play PS3 video games on the PS2 why may the PS3 fee so a lot more beneficial? The PS2 video games will play on the PS3 because Sony integrated different PS2 hardware into the PS3 (except on the 40GB, as a outcome the reason that's not backwards nicely matched).
