We have seen 4 years of war with the US economy in the greatest deficit of his history. Everyday in iraq make more pressure over the US economy. Every day this treasury deficit and the deficit in the international trade made US lose ground against Europe, China, Japan and India. The growth of the US economy is lame if we compare it with India, China and Russia. US is near of the limit, it's time to cut the social programs too. All wars are economic, social and political struggles too, not only: we do our job, support our troops and the terrorists're trying to destroy our freedom. what do you think of that? at the same time that you stay in iraq your country is losing the economic war in the world. Are you really disposed to stay in iraq meanwhile the economic disaster is heading to your families in home? I undestand that you recive orders and you have to stay until the polical power in US told you to retreat, you're a GI (goverment issue just a piece of equipment) you still think

If people in the military understood money at all I would not have had to send my guys over to credit counseling so often or had to go to Court with them any where near as much. Most soldiers are not the best people to ask about the economy.

Also I think you are over simplifying things. The war has had little effect on our economy. Just because two things happen at the same time does not make them directly dependent on each other.

Also the economy has had not had an unusually bad 4 years. In fact is has been better them most since the 70s. I don't know where you are getting your information but it seems off.

The problem with our economy is our unions have too much power and we put the standards of what people deserve too high. Nothing is free everything has to be made by someone. So when you make things rights you put a greater burden on fewer people.

Unions block technology because it cuts jobs in short term. This is why we are falling behind Europe. One of my friend works for a drug company. When he went to demark and saw the line that made the same product as one of the lines in his factory they had 15 people over there doing what about 100 where doing over here.

We also can't compete in labor costs with 3rd world countries because of where we put our minimum wage and poverty standards.

The national debt is because people want the government to do more and to pay fewer taxes. The only way to buy more and get paid less is to go in debt. That is why the average American had a few thousand dollars in credit card debt alone.

Pretty much the problems with our economy comes down to the problem that American workers are doing less work and wanting more pay for it. This causes the prices of our goods to be so high we won't even buy from ourselves. If you don't believe me how much of your clothing is made here, how much of your produce is made here, or just look around your house and find how much stuff other then the house it's self is from the US.

Well if we are in such dire straights as you discribe. Instead of cuting our social programs and have our citizens suffer. Why not cut off the BILLIONS in aid we waist (every year) in giving to the United Nations and other countries. Your right we may be soldiers, but we do think and believe it or not most of us know to read. What we read in the paper is enough to make you wonder if anyone at home really knows what is going on. You wonder about the growth of India, China and Russia. Compaired to the US. Just look at all the US companies that are moving their opperations and jobs there. Their economies are growing because of American companies are moving there. Cheeper labor and operating costs. Those countries are not doing anything better than us. Just cheeper. So once again that is money that is going over seas and not being spent in the US. Parts of those countries are so poor that their economy can do nothing, but grow. If we come home with out seeing this through. Will my next battles with terrorist take place in my hometown. I'd much rather fight them in their yard than mine

NO NEGATIVE EFFECTS AT ALL. BEST ECONOMY IN 50 YEARS. EMPLOYMENT LOWER THAN WHEN "BILLY BOY" WAS IN OFFICE. MORTGAGE RATES WERE AT AN ALL TIME HIGH 15 7/8% WHEN "JIMMY CARTER THE PEANUT FARMER" WAS IN OFFICE AND " BILLY BOY CLINTON'S" TERM THEY HOVERED AROUND 8 1/2%. NOT TO MENTION THE 24% ON CREDIT CARD INTEREST. GEE, WHO WOULD OF THUNK IT. DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT OUR ECONOMY WOULD BE LIKE IF "HILLIARY THE ASHTRY THROWER" WERE IN OFFICE! PERRISH THE THOUGHT!!!!
