ive read with interest that most computer attacks occur in the usa ,what can be done

i would have to disagree because when a hacker has done his job well, it can affect computers around the world. you ask what you can do, have a good security system on your computer...anti-virus, spy-ware..always up to date and run frequently. its the only defense we have currently.
you can keep your pc safe! :)
