I only give them when a person really deserves it . But mostly I'm very generous with the thumbs ups. How about you?

if it is funny I give it, if it is thought out and not offensive I give it thumbs up
All the jerks get thumbs down.......however I rarely give either.

I'm with you - if a lot of people have already answered something, and I don't think I have anything valuable to contribute, I'll scroll down and give a thumbs up to the answers I like. Rarely do I do a thumbs down - your answer has to be pretty bad for that - but I've done it a few times. Especially racist ones, or blatantly cruel ones.

I'm very generous with my thumbs up, i love to give them. i only give thumbs down, if i think the person was being rude

I have found that the thumbs up barely out number the thumbs down I give out. If someone obviously doesn't think for himself or is abusive, it is thumbs down. Now , if they are obtuse, sometimes I will give them a thumbs up, just for being different. If they are well thought out but have an opinion that I disagree with, sometimes I give a thumbs up. If they are dyed-in-the-wool Republicans, however THUMBS DOWN!

I am mainly a thumbs down person, it the post is rude, but mainly when they are just plain wrong.
I am also anti those who provide a link with no personal input,and those that cut and paste screed of facts.
I do give thumbs up to really good answers even if I am doubtful about the veracity of the reply

I usually give thumbs up for any answer I agree with or is very intelligible. Thumbs down usually goes to biased attitudes or plain rude and crude answers. I usually don't rate answerer's of my question 'coz I asked and if I don't like the answers then I shouldn't have asked, right?
