EVERYTHING HAS A BEGIN. SKIN CANCER HAS ONE TOO. SUNBURNS LETS SAY IT IS THE VERY BEGINING(IN THE MOST OF THE CASES) OF THIS KIND OF CANCER.
SUNBURN IS AN INFLAMMATION OF THE SKIN AND BENEATH TISSUES CAUSED BY OVER EXPOSURE TO THE SUN LIGHT, WHICH IS CHARGED WITH ULTRAVIOLET RAYS. SOME PEOPLE ARE MORE SENSITIVE TO THE SUN EVEN BECAUSE ANY DISEASE, OR ARE TAKING ANY DRUG THAT MAKE SENSITIVE, BUT PEOPLE WITH LIGHT SKIN ARE MORE SENSITIVE THAN THE OTHER ONES. SUN BURNINGS CAN TAKE EFFECT IN OUR SKIN EVEN WITH OUT BE EXPOSED TO SUN LIGHT, BECAUSE THE STRONG PENETRATING FORCE OF THE ULTRAVIOLET RAYS, THEY CAN REACH ANY PART IN THE ATMOSPHERE. CLOTHES AND ANYTHING ELSE ARE PENETRATED BY THEM. THE SAME BURNINGS YOU CAN GET IN A BEACH ARE THE ONES YOU CAN GET IN A SKIING VACATION, BECAUSE COLD TEMP. DOES NOT BLOCKS UV RAYS, AND THE WHITE OF THE SNOB REFLECTS IT AS WATER AND SAND DO .
BE OFTEN SUNBURNED AND EXPOSED TO STRONG SUN OVER THE TIME BREAKS DOWN THE TISSUES IN THE SKIN, CAUSING SOLAR KERATOSES.
THOSE LESION IN THE SKIN AND THE REPEATED OVER EXPOSURE TO STRONG SUN COULD BECAME INTO SKIN CANCER OF ANY OF THE THREE TYPES :
BASAL CELL CARCINOMA WHICH IT IS THE MOST COMMON OF THEM, OCCURS WHEN THE CELLS JUST BELOW THE SKIN SURFACE BECOME CANCEROUS, THEN A TUMOR DEVELOPS AND BECOME ULCERATED. THIS CELL DAMAGE IS THE RESULT OF OVER EXPOSURE TO STRONG SUN LIGHT, PERHAPS THIS DAMAGE COULD TAKE MANY YEARS.
THE ULCER GROWS SLOWLY AS IT DESTROYS THE SKIN TISSUES SURROUNDING IT. THIS KIND OF CANCER DOES NOT SPREADS TO THE REST OF THE BODY. IT IS MORE COMMON IN LIGHTED SKIN PEOPLE.
SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA IS CAUSED BY OVER EXPOSURE TO STRONG SUN LIGHT OVER MANY YEARS,. OCCURS WHEN UNDERLYING CELL OF THE SKIN (DERMIS) ARE DAMAGED, AND THIS LEADS TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF A MALIGNANT TUMOR,(LIFE-THREATENING TUMOR). THE LOWER LIP, EARS, AND THE HANDS ARE COMMON SITES FOR THIS TYPE OF CANCER TO DEVELOP. IF THIS CANCER IT IS ALLOWED TO REACH AN ADVANCED STAGE, IT MIGHT SPREADS(METASTASIZE) TO OTHER PARTS IN THE BODY, PERHAPS IF IT IS DETECTED EARLY, THE TREATMENT IT IS EFFECTIVE.
MALIGNANT MELANOMA IS THE MOST SERIOUS OF THEM. BECAUSE IT SPREADS TO THE BODY AS SOON AS IT DEVELOPS. OCCURS AS RESULT OF CHANGES IN THE UNDERLYING SKIN CELLS THAT PRODUCES THE MELANIN, WHICH IS THE SKIN-COLORING PIGMENT, AND AS RESULT OF A MALIGNANT OR LIFE THREATENING TUMOR THAT HAS DEVELOP. THIS CANCEROUS LUMP SOMETIMES DEVELOPS FROM PIGMENT CELLS IN A MOLE PRESENT SINCE BIRTH, OR ONE THAT DEVELOPED LATTER, BUT SOMETIMES DEVELOPS IN PIGMENT THAT LOOKS LIKE NORMAL SKIN
AS THE OTHER TWO TYPES OF SKIN CANCER, THE EXPOSURE TO STRONG SUN LIGHT OVER MANY YEARS SEEMS TO PLAY A PART IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE DISEASE.
MOST OF THE CASES, EVEN WHEN DETECTED EARLY, THE TREATMENT IT IS NOT EFFECTIVE.

THAT IT IS WHAT I KNOW, I HOPE THIS COULD HELP YOU.

Both things you have heard are correct. It is kind of confusing isn’t it? We have been finding more people with vitamin D deficiencies due to the fear of skin cancer. Vitamin D is needed to absorb calcium this is why you often see milk fortified with vitamin D. However it is best to get it from the sun. You only need about 20 minutes a day. If you are fair go outside before 10:00 am or after 3:30 pm when the sun it not as intense to get the benefits from the sun while not damaging your skin.

Skin cancer is caused usually by sun exposure. The most damage can be done when you are a child and your skin is the purest. I always wer sunscreen in my makeup whatever. I lost my Dad to melanoma all beacuse of a stupid mole the Dr. "didn't think" was an issue turned out malignant. Try to get a good sunscreen the protects from UVA and UVB.

uv rays from the sun.
Other important causes of skin cancer include the following:

Use of tanning booths

Immunosuppression - Impairment of the immune system, which protects the body from foreign entities, such as germs or substances that cause an allergic reaction

Exposure to unusually high levels of x-rays

Contact with certain chemicals - Arsenic (miners, sheep shearers, and farmers); hydrocarbons in tar, oils, and soot (may cause squamous cell carcinoma)
The following people are at the greatest risk:

People with fair skin, especially types that freckle, sunburn easily, or become painful in the sun

People with light (blond or red) hair and blue or green eyes

Those with certain genetic disorders that deplete skin pigment - Albinism, xeroderma pigmentosum

People who have already been treated for skin cancer

People with numerous moles, unusual moles, or large moles that were present at birth

People with close family members who have developed skin cancer

People who had at least 1 severe sunburn early in life
