This also is a considerably long list, and again I feel there is some confusion regarding a 'discovery' and an invention. For instance, the 'discovery' of gunpowder occurred somewhere around 1,000 B.C.E.. The 'invention' of fireworks didn't occur until around 550 to 600 C.E.. During much of this period, the Chinese landmass was split between Southern and Northern Empires, and device much like the firecracker was used to scare horses and thwart calvary charges.
