Since the so called "white" Americans proudly trace their origin to various European countries, it would be nice, also, if Black Americans could do the same. I realize that slaves that came were robbed of their culture and many African Americans would have hard time researching such geneaology, but it would still be interesting to at least pinpoint a general area and maybe go and see how life there is.

White Americans often go the the UK on vacation to check out their roots and many other go to see some other "old country"(ies).

However, there is no such big movement among Black Americans to see where they come from and go and learn about all those countries their ancestors had been brought from.

Would be nice to do some study, learn about which countruies these are, organize tours, learn about the culture there, etc.

For the record, not all blacks trace most of their ancestry back to Africa. My family can trace back to the indigenous people of Jamaica, regardless of stupid people saying they somehow became extinct. I also have Irish blood in me. Since I do have darker skin I know I have some African in me and from what I've learned about Jamaica, most slaves that were brought there came from West Africa.
