I was asking opinions of yahoo users, not actually looking for a scientific study, but thanks for you input. Judaism is by far the most alive and most pragmatic abd intellectual of the three religions I asked about.

I'm Jewish, and I'll tell you my opinion.

First of all, the biblical prohibition of homosexual sex applies to Jews only. Nobady else has to follow our religious laws.

That brings me to my second point. Because I'm a religious minority and also because I respect the religious freedom of everyone, I do not believe that the goverment should be in the business of inforcing religious law. Mine or anyone else's. There should be a separation of church and state. This should include marriage.

Civil marriage and other laws involving involving family relations should be delt with secularly and with respect for equal protection under the law. We have civil marriage so that people from any religion can get married and have the rights and priveledges from a consentual bond between two people recognized by the state. Religious ministers are allowed to administer this bond, that is to marry people, to protect and not restrict religious freedom. We all also have the right to marry with only the state presiding so that people who do not want religious marriage can be recognized legally as a couple with rights.

That being said, civil marriage is a right and a secular civil agreement and was constructed to allow all persuasions of people to form family units. The fact that we have a civil marriage shows that the concept does in fact promote equal protection.

I think that gays should have the same civil rights as anyone else because they deserve equal protection, just as religious minorities do.

That's my two cents.

Beliving in the same rights or believing it is wrong?

A homosexual by nature is also different from a practicing one. The bible only forbids male homosexuality, while female is not a recommended path, to put it accurately.

The bible forbids and has concequences for active male homosexuals. This is accepted by Orthodox Jews, and has decreasing acceptance by Concervative and all others. There are no rights removed from a homosexual besides barring his practice, biblically at least. As the Jewish (not Israeli) Supreme Court is no longer functioning, new concequences may vary from community to community such as forbidding interaction, etc. the best way to put it would be a communitive exile.

There are some far right groups, such as the religious Agudath Israel party, who believe that.

However, while homosexuality is forbidden in Orthodox Judaism, they are opposed to all forms of discrimination.

Other groups, such as the American Jewish Congress, the American Jewish Committee, the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism and the Anti-Defamation League, have challenged gay discrimination laws in various states.

But as far as a number? Who knows?

i'm taken with comparable-intercourse marriage. My brother is gay, and it became no longer complicated for me to different than him for who he's. the reality that he likes different adult males did no longer result me emotionally or in any way. even with the undeniable fact that, my mom continues to be having a complicated time accepting him for who he's. She even calls gay human beings "fags", and says that my brother would not understand what it is like too be in a relationship with a woman. She's cried some circumstances, and brings up this subject count in many circumstances at social events. i hit upon this extremely unacceptable for a determine to do. She's been doing this for no less than 2 years, she has a complicated time accepting actuality. Like my dad plans on retiring in the bush, he likes fishing and searching ext. yet my mom nevertheless likes to think of they're going to be living mutually in the city. Hah. decrease back on subject count...... So i became asserting i'm for gay marriage. i'm going to start with the full faith thought. properly i'm atheist and the only faith that makes any sorta experience to me is Buddhism. This faith accepts human beings for who they are. even with the undeniable fact that Christianity would not settle for human beings who prefer the comparable gender. a faith shouldn't turn human beings against human beings or verify what's morally splendid. human beings shouldn't take each and every little thing in the bible so literary. it is alright to believe in the bible and that faith, yet do no longer enable it turn you right into a nasty man or woman. some Christians are so speedy to decide human beings, and purely enable it take over their lives. They carry onto their ideals so dearly. actuality is gay individuals are human beings too. If 2 human beings love one yet another adequate, they could be in a position to marry one yet another. it is not any longer correct what human beings think of. they could purely legalize it already, there is not any longer something incorrect with being gay. i think of it is quite often older people who are not accepting of them, in 15 years or so it's going to probable be criminal.

I don't know all of the Jews, so it would be hard to guess.
