What factors intensified African anti-colonial activities after the Second World War?

Economics, and cultural. The economy European colonial powers, that is France, England, Belgium and Portugal was in shambles. Great resources were spent rebuilding wartorn Europe, and the colonies suffered as a result. As well, the militaries of the colonial powers could barely support the operations that achieved colonial success the past century.

Another factor was the way Colonial military units were treated by the European powers. For instance, only recently did France recognize the veterans of these military units, and begin paying pensions.
