thank you for posting these 2 Q's!

# of democrats/republicans? I don't know. This issue isn't about democrats or repulicans, it is about the constitution of the U S. and the equality FOR ALL... it is the world making those decisions and the U S may be way behind on rights of citizens in the U S and all over the world.

Note: there is protection for gays in the workplace in only 20 states.
Doug C... chk out waterlily750's Q "What should I do?"

I am appalled at the ignorance of some of the answers on this page. One needs to be reminded of the hate and insults and name calling that is so prominent... still. It is a reminder of what the results of a poor educational system are.

And furthermore...
Hate the sin NOT the sinner is like saying "hate the chocolate not the chocolate cake. God did not make a decision about marriage, his followers did... children everywhere need to be in a loving home period. Marriage is a legal right NOT a religious right.
no one is looking for EXTRA rights... just Equal rights which gays do not have...
Homosexuality is NOT an mental illness... grow up! get informed and OPEN yr mind

i am a liberal. i dont feel that i belong to any political party (maybe the green party), but i can honestly say, that i DO agree with some Republican ideals. I do believe that people should have the freedom to choose to be homosexual if they wish, but the Holy Sacrament and Union of Marriage should NEVER be blasphemed by homosexual marriage. That is totally against God's Word. I do believe that domestic partnership should be allowed, as a government issued marriage, where they can have the same spousal rights as heterosexual couples. But marriage to homosexuals should never take place in a church, or be performed by a Holy Representative of God. I don't view homosexuals as second class citizens. I have never been hateful of anyone over their race, religion, or their sexual preference. Another view I share with Republicans is that I feel abortion is MURDER. But, that is a totally different topic. Hope this helped you.

Homosexuals should have no more or less rights than any other group of people with mental illnesses. No matter how PC you think you want to be, homosexuality is an illness, and our denial of that fact is what's helping destroy the US rather than make it stronger. These people need help and we would rather misdiagnose the situation to make ourselves feel more comfortable instead of fixing the problem.

i don't believe that they are 2nd class citizens. also i do believe that they have the same rights as any US citizen.

only if people treat each other with class and respect will we all be in a much happier place.

(1) There is no such thing as second class citizens, only those that are treated as such.

(2) How does one define Republican anymore?
