Most people include high school GPA on their resume and employers look for this because it attests to their work ethic. A person with more grades is likely to be a poor employee. Look at it this way....if you were looking to hire someone and you had two applicants with the exact same qualifications in every category, except one was an A student, the other a C- student.....which would you hire?

Many fast food establishments do have rules about this and some even offer benefits to study on site. I wouldn't lie because lying on an application for or in a job interview is grounds for immediate dismissal. When i worked at my last job we use to pull out the old application form the minute anything went wrong with an employee as it is the quickest easiest legal way to get rid of someone. When I was a teenager I was never asked about my grades but, I remember the rules from the orientation about studying before shift and benefits for it. I also heard some places were paying for students to do it.

I know that certain establishments do not let teens get hired according to their grades...for example my sister worked at a chic-fil-a in arizona and after a little while they asked for her report card..she gave it to them and they noticed she had a "D" and they cut her hours to provide more homework time

Sure they do, just lower paying jobs. But, if by "bad" grades you mean "C's" and "B's", the most creative and financially successful people in the long run were C and B students.

you might not get into the most selective college, which might cause you to end up in a less competitive job. other than that no one cares. after you get into college (and anyone can get into a decent state uni if you have a pulse and the money) you can just lie about your high school gpa, not that anyone will ask or care.

Not true. Employers care about job abliity, integrity and character, not some dumb grade system (for the most part).

Why? There flunking out they might as well start flipping those burgers so they learn what's in store for them if they don't straighten up.
