From what I have read, the Blue Jays are trying to trade John Thomson because Towers has won the #5 spot in the rotation. That is bad news for Blue Jays fans.

Josh Towers has the lock on the #5 spot, and apparently has won it. Good for him, he can be solid as a back end guy, and has a history of rebounding from bad seasons in a big way (see combined numbers from his last year in the Baltimore org. VS his combined totals in the next year, his first in the Jays org.) Add in that this is a contract year, he will be a surprise.
