I'm 18 and I was born in brooklyn, Ny and moved to Yonkers when I was 4. Since my dad still lived in Brooklyn I would go there every other weekend and summers. When I was 10 I moved to Croton-on-Hudson (in westchester county ). Then when I was 12 I moved to Georgia. After I just turned 18 I moved to Pheonix. Now, when people asked me where am I from what do I say? or what do I say when someone asks me i where grew up? or is it the same thing? If somene ask I usually say NY and then they ask what part and don't know I should say if I am from Yonkers or Brooklyn. I usually say Brooklyn though.

I'd suggest you tell people you were born and raised in New York and during your teen years you lived in Georgia. This should give people an understanding, and if they want details, then you can go into the facts about Brooklyn, Yonkers, etc. Don't sweat about how you need to explain; if someone truly is interested in where you lived, they will listen to what you have to say.

I say born here but then moved here. I get it a lot because I am military wife. I also have an accent so some places I stick out. I would just say Brooklyn if I were you...

well I was born in TX but moved a lot b/c my dad is in the military... I say I'm from Hawaii b/c I lived there 7 yrs (from 6th grade to graduating there) and it's where I remember the most meomories :) so for you I'd say wherever you have the best memories or liked the most is where you should say you're from... for me, Hawaii is my "home" :o)

you have issues dont you? do you resent all the moving around? is this your cry for help?? hunni, when someone asks you where youre from you say, i just moved from georgia. but i've lived in many places." see?!?! no brainer?? but you're making it a big deal because to YOU it is a big deal? perhaps you need to get counseling! good luck!
