Depends on the State. So you'll want to talk with your local daycare/education administration.

In Nevada you can work in a daycare as a "teacher" or director. You can work within the school district as a teacher's aide and if you decide to continue your education you can work as a substitute teacher while getting your degree.

Also you can work as a coach/programs coordinator for local recreation departments.

Your best best is to look in your local classified or online source such as Monster.com to see what opportunitys are affored to you with an AA. Good luck!

An AA degree is a step above high school and between college. What is shows is that you are on your way to becoming responsible and are in the process of developing skills to become a successful adult.

I love children, in fact I have worked with them a lot after H.S. The problem is that it pays minimum. The reward is the joy you get doing what you love to do.

You will be getting a lot of responses to this question that will say that an Associates degree is not worth much, but it is and says a lot about you. No degree is easy to get, and you have worked hard to get one, so don't let them put you down because of it.

You could begin to get serious about working with children and go back to school and take some classes in psychology. That is the type of degree that would open more doors for you...even a BA in Psychology will not pay well, you would need to get a Masters and that would pay only about ten more thousand than that of a BA degree, but then you could teach students.

Children need our help the most, but society does not see it that way, they reward business the big bucks and let the teachers make a little more than minimum wages.

What I did was volunteer with Big Brothers. All it required from me was dedication, and life experience. It was very rewarding for my "little brother" and myself.

We were perfectly matched, having come from abusive backgrounds, I knew exactly what he craved, self-confidence, and I gave it to him because I never had much of it when I was his age.

Good luck, you will find your desire...and your desire will help you accomplish the mission that your soul craves.

In an elementary, middle or high school, you can work as a para-professional. This is usually as a teacher's aide or office assistant.
