what temperature do you use to wash clothes you need to shrink?

Personally I think it's less about the washing and more about the drying. If you really need to shrink your clothes, set it on the highest setting.

Just be careful that it doesn't go smaller than you want.

The only clothes that will shrink in the washer are ones that shouldn't be washed (like some sweaters, etc.)

Clothes really shrink from being overdryed.

hot water to open the fabric fibers and a nice hot dryer to cinch em up.

Hot for the most shrinkage. Warm does it too.
