It might be out of ink, or it might be dying from something even more bizarre, like the C60 I had last year did. I replaced mine with an HP printer/scanner combo; I'd recommend either HP or Canon if you need to buy a new one.

ARE YOU RUNNING OUT OF INK?
DID YOU SETUP PRINTER TO PRINT IN BLACK AND WHITE?
IF YOU ARE LOW ON INK YOU MIGHT GET A MESSED UP COLOR

Assuming you have plenty of ink...it may be time to clean the print heads.
