YUP! a friend and i came late to school one day, while the whole school was having assembly. Instead of filling a late slip (which is what is expected when late) and then proceeding to our hall for the assembly, we thought it would be better to stay back in classrooms to catch up with our unfinished homework, and so we thought we didnt need any late note. We didnt think we'd get caught, and if we did we didnt think it was that big of a deal to be put on detention for..
Boy were we wrong! A teacher found us and reported it to the principal, and still we didnt think it was a big deal. The principle called us in, very disappointed i might add, and told us we'd be put on detention, for stepping assembly and not following school rules, bla bla bla...in our school, detention means either picking up rubbish (which is by the way the easiest), or scrubbing.....we had to SCRUB! scrub all the bird sh*t, excuse me, from the outside walls of our very large classroom. It might sound easy to some of you, but trust me, its NOT! esp for two very unfit girls lol, and there wasn't just little, there was ALOT, our classroom is on the third floor (the highest) and our roof is apperently home to so many pigeons, it was terrible, the 'guck' all dried and yucky and practically superglued to the walls! hardwork! worked up a good sweat too, hopefully lost a few pounds lol. But yeah, that was my detention :-)....ah highschool...goodtimes good times.

In high school, yes. The gym teacher decided that all the girls were late to gym one day and gave all the girls detention. Hell of a great guy. I had to stay an hour after school in the office for being a girl in gym class.
