Do gynecologists/obstetricians have to learn how to perform an abortion before they can open a practice?

They must learn the proper procedure however they may not have actually performed the "service".

Well, there's the science posted at the bottom of this post.
If you are thinking of becoming an OB-GYN, you will have to look into your personal ethics/morals to decide if you can deal with the issue. Even if you don't learn how to do abortions, you will certainly have to counsel girls/women about it and your own personal beliefs cannot, by law, influence their decision.
