harras and treat me like if I were guilty or not normal, because of my DV victim history. I'm a very productive, and hard worker individual, that respect everyone, how came they do not respect me? Are there anything I can do. I do not want to quit my job, it is a county job. I need to keep the stability of my family, I'm a single parent. I consider my self a SURVIVOR!

Maybe you should stop wearing your Victim Halo. Whatever happened is in the past. You stuck around for 20 years so you must own your part in it. I am sure your co-workers are tired of hearing all of your "woa is me" stories. In other words, GET A NEW HOBBIE!!

Maybe you need to talk this out with your counselor and sort whether you have, due to your prior experience, developed a defensive behaviour that others might not understand.

I suggest you seek out your friends who will help you through this. You have survived this much, you are strong enough to go through this, I think. I don't know whether you have support groups of people with similar experiences or any NGOs (Women's Rights Organisations particularly) who can help you out, but there's usually one at every state, so you might be able to find help.

You may present yourself w/ a certain vulnerability. We in effect teach people how we are willing or want to be treated. I'd suggest a self defense class. Your confident body language will dictate how you EXPECT to be treated.

If they're harassing you and treating you differently you may want to report them. You can report them to the department of labor (the department of equal employment opportunities). You have to take action, if you do, these may be taken as serious allegations and they will definitely do something. You may even hire a lawyer if you find it to be that serious.

Hold Your Head Up High. Do your job, and ignore them,as if they were dirt. Talk to your boss. We all deserve a chance.
