Sportscenter covers alot of sports and some of them are sports that arent even really popular in America (i.e. Cricket)
so y dont they cover a sport like wrestling that is a regular sport in highschool and college.

they show the ncaa championships every year on espn2...u just have to check ur local listings w/ a fine tooth comb to find when it comes on though.
let's face it. when u mention 'wrestling' to the casual sports fan or anyone on the street...they think hulk hogan or the wwf (now wwe). thats a stigma that amatuer wrestling cant seem to shake. most people probably think that its fixed like pro wrestling. but when they do see amatuer wrestling, they just see 2 guys in singlets rolling on top of each other. and if u dont know the sport and no one gets pinned, its really hard to score it sometimes.
the only time that i recall college wrestling being on sportscenter was when they reported cael sanderson going undefeated in his 4 yrs @ iowa st.

Not to mention an Olympic sport. I tough they showed the NCAA finals once. probably at 3am on ESPN2...haha
They should show at least some big regional matches or something.... they show poker tournaments all day....give me a break. Cards? That's like when the original MTV stopped showing music videos. It's really all about the $$$$$

True. I starred this question because its a good one. ESPN sportcenter covered the rock-paper-sissors world championship last year! Its on at my job all day so I've seen it alot, and what your saying is true.

I don't want to watch highlights of a sport that involves the wrestlers spending more time pawing at each other like a couple of pissed-off cats and grabbing each other in the crotch than they spend actually trying to take each other down, let alone a sport that I don't really understand anyway...
and I'm from Iowa, too!!

don't say never !!! I have seen Collegiate wrestling on ESPN,but rarely..I agree it should be seen a lot more!!! When I see Dan Patrick I will ask him!!!

Hmmm...I've never noticed that. But I don't watch alot of ESPN. I watch WWE and UFC.
