Some parents let their fat kids eat any thing they want and the believe the school should also indulge the little monsters. In my opinion, if you want to slowly kill your child, pack his lunch, don't make the school cafeteria an accomplice in your horrible parenting exploits...

Because if it is too healthy, consisting of too many vegetables and tasteless non fat food, NO one will eat it. That translates into being more unhealthy. Going all day without nourishment.
I wouldn't eat if it was void of all fat and was mostly fruit and vegetables. Bland. Yuck. I would end up sick from not eating and my grades would plummet.
Now that's a good reason, I think.
Healthy food is really a good idea but only up to a point.
Dark chocolate is good for us.
It sounds like you're on the same mission I was. To get the food in the school cafateria changed to something good.
I always had healthy meals at home that my mother would prepare. It wasn't necessary for it to be the schools job.
OH!!! I just read your correction! You meant to say UNhealthy.
OK. Here's THAT argument. When our bodies are deprived of the essential nutrients that we need, our minds and bodies don't function as welkl. It can also lead to laziness and depression. Even anger issues because the mind is not fed properly.
An unhealthy diet also leads to not being able to sleep well or remember things as easily. It makes studying harder.
Overweight kids turn out to be obese unhealthy adults most of the time. They become more prone to sickness because their immune system is low.
There. Now you can hand my 2 answers to 2 people and they can debate the pros and cons of the healthy vs the non healthy school lunch.
Great platform for the debate club! Lol!!

Cuz kids eat that stuff EVERY day and it will make 'em fat, and cause health problems later on in life!!! Schools just serve that stuff cuz it's cheap, fills kids up (it's all high in fat), and tastes good so the kids like it. What more could the government want? The lack of physical activity & discipline, and too much fake processed food & candy on campus, all plays a major part in what's wrong with schools these days!!!

I think healthy lunches are great but am disappointed many schools stopped having peanut butter sandwiches because of the rare kids who are allergic to them . By school age this should be known and most schools I know of offer alternatives to the primary meal .

I don't think it's wrong. Some people, though, would rather eat junk food than something that is good for them. That doesn't make the healthy lunches wrong, though. It could be the only meal that some kids eat that IS healthy.

Because they lead to obesity, and this results in increased chances of heart failure, cancer, diabetes, etc. Why would someone support unhealthy school lunches anyway. Children are innocent, and it isn't our job to force on them crude food that will hurt them in life.
