Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.

With this said how can their be any disadvantages?

I think some of the advantages of gratitude are concerned with etiquette, good manners of educated decent people. Good and great people do not forget those who used to support them financially, academically or spiritually. Therefore, I think again any sign of gratitude is always appreciated by subordinates, colleagues or superiors. However, as for the disadvantages, there is none.
