If I open the bleeder drain then close it runs for a few seconds then stalls. turn the key again, starts then stops right away. I put brand new batteries in. I even got the Haynes Techbook for diesels can't figure out what to do. I could really use some help. thank you in advance.

Sounds like the carb to me. I wish I knew more to tell you guy, but starting requires a rich mixture, and idoling or running requires a leaner mixture. If you're too rich, you'll get the behavior you're describing. Hope this helps.

Have You Tried Checking Your Injectors or your fuel regulator for clogs ?

have the electrical system checked,
sounds like a weak module, or problem
with one of your on board computer
systems.
