You might have a virus and/or spy ware.

I use Trend micro for faster and easier scanning and virus tracking, they have a free house call scan that's not bad. But it's free, so I don't always trust it but it was introduced to be by some smart computer people.

chances are that you have a virus on your computer. I'd recommend going to http://www.download.com and searching for AVG and download the free edition and also download AdAware SE from there too. If that doesnt work I'd recommend seeing a professional tech. Good Luck!

You probably have spyware and a virus. Download Spybot Search and destroy to remove the spyware from here:
http://filehippo.com/download_spybot_search_destroy/
and AVAST anti virus from here:
http://filehippo.com/download_avast_antivirus/

Run them and delete all the spyware/virusus.

THEN fix your registry and startup files using Glary Utilities
(fully functional 30 trial can be downloaded here:
http://glaryutilities.com/ ...I like this program so much I purchased it after the trial was over!!)

After you reboot your computer it will work like new!!

ENJOY!

speed of your computer (such as starting up and such) is based on your harddrives capabilities. you can make it faster by adding memory or by replacing the motherboard.
speed of your internet is influenced by your memory and what you use to connect to the web (DSL, cable, etc.).
a easy way to speed up both that costs you no money is by defragmenting and cleaning you disk drive. to defragment (using XP) go to your start menu, click on my computer, right click on C:drive, click on properties, click on tools, click on defragment. this may take a while up to a half hour even. you can also scan your disk after you are finished. this option is right above the defragment button, but you need to restart your computer for it scan your disk.
to clean your disk go to your start menu, click on my computer, right click on C:drive, click on properties, click on clean disk, check all boxes, click ok. this gets rid of all your temporary files and compresses your disk space. you should do this weekly. hope this helps!
