I decide what ones to answer based on a few factors:
1. If it is a question where I have personal experience.
2. If it is a question where my views are being attacked by a person who is obviously biased and closed minded and they could use a piece of information they are lacking.
3. If it is a funny question where I can give a funny answer.
4. Where it's really deep and personal and pulls me into a situation where I know because I've been there too.

I answer the ones that I actually know something about. LOL I'm a retired nurse who owned a farm and orchard. I raised six kids. I sew, knit and cook. I mainly answer the medical questions or other ones that relate to my life experience. I don't give advice on hip hop or rap :-)
Seriously, I'm also more inclined to answer if I feel that I can actually help the person.

Something that I feel can help or contribute to the question. Unfortunately not all questioners are looking for a reasonable answer, but there are always those serious ones who appreciate responses.

I answer the ones that when I read them an answer pops in my head right away,if it's a question I have to sit here and think about then I skip it!

Answer whatever questions you know the answer to. Even the hard ones. And if you don't know the answer, and can still reason it out, go ahead and answer it - just make sure that they understand your logic, and that you have worked it out and aren't talking from experience.
Every viewpoint is valid - if it makes logical sense.

If you have a new twist, or insight into the question answer it. To some people they will say some of my answers are stupid, but realize that there is no question or answer that is stupid. You are just looking into the life of someone else.

I answer the questions that I think I know an appropriate answer to. If my answer might help somebody, I figure I might as well put it out there. Hope this helps.

I read the questions and if they are simple enough to answer and does not need lengthy answers, I would go for it,

easy avoid the vile abusive ones, go for the ones that jump out, pick some at random & skip any that make me go blank.
