Manners are always the best answer. Without manners and etiquette, we might as well all be wild monkeys.

Good manners do not make you a pushover. Lack of assertiveness does. Also, nothing irritates a rude person more than being nice and polite in return. They are trying to get to you. Using good manners gets to them. You can also get more when you are polite. Yelling and screaming about bad service, only leads people to not want to make things right. If you are calm and polite, they will do more to KEEP you happy.

Manners and politeness depend on the culture from country to individual. It's subjective.

Everyone's been in a situation where is was just best to be assertive and let the chips fall where they may.

But unfortunately, no. I am not always polite.

But Thank You for asking.

I think so too. YOU know my sister opened a door 4 a elderly couple once and they gave her an envelope and thanked her. THEY told her to open it later and thanked her 4 being so polite. THERE was $200 in that envelope.

good manners are absolutly wonderful, but there are occasions where you should assert yourself, and forget about your manners, such as when a clerk gives you the wrong change and is too stupid to do the math herself and keeps arguing with you. i once used a 100 dollar bill to pay for groceries. the total was 30 something, and she gave me change for a 50.. so i was missing 50 dollars from my change.. the manager came over, checked the drawer, saw my 100 dollar bill, and no 50 dollar bill, and i got my change back. but had i maintained my manners, her stupidity would have overpowered me.

she was very tan and very blond..
