Don't laugh, this is my real last name, & I'ts caused me nothing but trouble all my life, all the wisecracks, & caused me to get kicked out of 10 schools for fighting. Any suggestions?

I had a chinese doctor called Queck once. Sure, people change their names all the time, anglicise the spelling, anything. You could go the whole hog and choose something totally different, or, if you have some family history you would like to keep connected to, you need only change the name just enough to get away from the obvious jokes.
How about Nagler?

Change anything you want. A name is only a name unless you attach personal identity to it. So if you can't stand it, try something different.

Could you buy a new last name if you wanted to? I know you can pretty much do that to change first and middle names, but I didn't know you could do that with last names.
