What would you say is the hardest lesson you have had to learn in life? I would say for me it would be 1. Always trust your initial gut instinct about someone 2. Save money for emergencies.
Any other interesting ones / personal experiences?

Don't always think about what you might lose but rather what you might gain.
Stuff is just stuff, its people that matter.
It's only money.
Stand by your friends.
Never give the silent treatment.
Take what you want but use what you take.
Never use the past as a weapon.
Not really hard lessons but a long time in the learning...
The hardest... never turn away from a friend in pain, you risk losing them forever.

I would have to say the hardest is that you cannot really change or help anyone else. I am always getting hit with this, I guess sometimes I think better of people and have higher expectations than I should for people and situations.

Truth and acceptance. We all know the truth deep inside even though we don't want or like it we know.We no better and we even try for ignore it or manipulate it to our satisfaction.knowing along it is a lie. Until we CRASH or SELF-SABOTAGE, alone, hurt, feels betrayed, less then humiliated all because we would not accept Truth. However, in time and pain and more pain we will become real with our Self's and other. Truth & Acceptance will be our guide to happiness Truth never changes and by Accepting makes us more true to ourselves and that is what really counts. Are you being true to your self,or are you just one big fruad. That is your choose.

It has been that just because we want something or have an incredible need for something, doesn't mean we should accept a substitute for the REAL thing (example relationships); self-belief no matter what--even when everyone seems to be cold and disparaging; and finally that we are often here on earth to help others and cannot leave because of our duty to help those we love...

smile when you are scolded, give them a hug when you are praised, greet people with smiles not with a sour face, appreciatte what you have not bragging for more than you have, dont complain but try to improve.
