He should step down immediately...but we all know that ain't going to happen. And Bush wont get rid of him until the very last second because Gonzalez is a good loyal little man. I agree it may be sometime in April...but my guess is they will get rid of him to try to save precious Rove.

As far as Clinton firing ALL 93 attorneys...SO DID BUSH JR WHEN HE WENT INTO OFFICE. That ain't the point...the point is that these attorneys that he fired WERE his appointees and he did it because of political posturing, "If you won't do what I want you to do then you loose your job, without any questions. Either you are loyal or not to my cause." WHICH is very dangerous with the courts. I myself don't want a court system which is fully controlled by the whims and desires of the President...ANY President, because if it is, then you no longer have a Republic, but a dictatorship. REMEMBER THE COURTS ARE PART OF THE CHECKS AND BALANCES!

here is the thing with Gonzalez. 8 attorneys got fired with Gonzales. they administration has the right to fire anyone of these people as they see fit. it is considered a privilege to be a us attorney. back in Clinton's first years, he fired 93 attorneys. it is a right that the reigning administration has. i hope Gonzalez does not get fired or resign. all this bickering and party politics is weakening out country. we are losing our spine. we are losing our minds. we need to locate ourselves again. i mean we were it. we were number 1. no one wanted to mess with us. now we are just a joke. this has been going on over t he past 2 presidents. Clinton was too weak. Bush is too eager. we need to figure ourselves out.

I hope mot until 1/20/09. He is doing a good job & there is no reason for him to leave. Bush would have a lot of trouble trying to get a reasonable person confirmed now.

Depends on how this so called 'scandal' plays out.
I just don't see it...who didn't know these appointments were political?
Its like the scene in Casablanca when Claude Raines is 'shocked to find gambling' going on in the illicit casino he frequents off duty!
Scandal? If thats a scandal, they really have lowered the bar!

I believe it will be somewhere in the middle of April as well. Bush is in deep trouble right now, so he has to cut his losses...
