If 3.1414 is terminating as is,, the decimal is equal to 31414/10000.

If 14 is repeating in the decimal, it is the fraction

It's rational because it can be expressed as the ratio of two integers.

In physics if you were trying to experimentally measure pi, you might call this your measured value or value obtained (as opposed to the exact value of pi reported to the appropriate number of significant figures for your theoretical value, say if you were calculating percent error).

Had it been 3.1416, it would be a rational approximation for pi, accurate to within four decimal places.

If it were 3.1416 you might call it an approximation of pi. As it stands it's just a rational number.

I don't think that this particular number has a special name but it is called a rational number because it is an ending decimal equivalent to 15707/5000
