I don't want to 'rail' about convoluted questions again, but this one 'fits the bill'.

The highlighted portion 'speaks' about 'replace' in reference to the word 'said'.
The 2nd part refers to 'ways to use the word "said" '.
The actual meaning sort of gets through, but the 'root' of the problem is that the two parts of the question say two different things. The second part is in statement form rather than in the form of a question. whew. No Offense meant, but a better use of words(pardon the pun) would describe properly what the asker means to say. The grammar is, at best, bad. I will inflict no other punishment on the poor asker(LOL). A lot of people would rephrase the 2nd part for him(her). The best medicine is for the asker to look at it closely and find the obvious 'rephrase'!
The other responders to this query have enough 'fodder' for the asker to use at any rate.

shouted

"Her smoldering look shouted her anger." (Instead of "she said how mad she was")

"Right back at ya" he replied.

At that she growled, "just you wait, you'll be sorry!"

A resounding laugh was his only response.

I hope that gives you an idea of how to dialogue without using, and then he said, and she said...
If you need any more ideas, feel free to ask!
