Check with a local antique dealer or Sotheby's. There is also a large watch valuation book that can be found in libraries or book stores. My experience is that Pre-1900 USA watches don't carry a lot of value (usually less than $300) unless they are produced by an extremely rare manufacturer or contain a lot of precious metals. The advanced movements and complications that are very popular in the current watch market weren't produced by US manufacturers until later years.
