hi skatersrock! happy bday! definitely get an ipod video! i love mine... so nice to have the big display to scroll through ur music, and u have the option to put vids and pics on it! u can also buy a cable to plug ur ipod video into most modern TVs and show off ur vids and pics at ur bday party! amazon has the best prices, and many times u can get free shipping and no tax (depending on what state u r in). i purchased 2 ipods from amazon - no shipping, no tax (i'm in cali) and both arrived in great shape!

It's not really worth watching videos directly on the iPod if you can help it (the Video only has a 2.5" screen, after all), but there are a variety of cables that can be used to pump the video or photo stream to a regular TV, which is great for playing video podcasts or showing your vacation photos to friends. The one I got cost a mere $6.00 plus a couple bucks for S&H (linked in the Sources section), as compared to the monsterous price of the Monster-branded one ($40? Ouch!) or the ~$20 ones you'll often find at retail. Keep in mind that if you do get one of these, you will need to set your iPod to display the photos/videos to the TV before they'll do anything but play the sound through your TV speakers.

But keep in mind that if you don't plan to use it extensively, or you don't have a large music collection to put on it, you can save a lot of money up front by dropping down to the Shuffle or the 2GB Nano. They won't play video, though (and the Shuffle doesn't even have a screen for photos), so that's still something to keep in mind.

the nano is smaller and, as you suggested, very pleasing. it is likewise flash based, that could make it somewhat greater good as there is not any perplexingchronic to placed on out (no shifting areas). besides the fact that if, merely as in the older ipod mini, you pay lots greater $ in keeping with gb; besides the fact that if the video function isn't all that sensible, you will spend much less time futzing at the same time with your library (instruction manual updates, etc) with the greater suitable ability of the 30 gig. How huge is your library?... on account that greater suitable 24 gig is ineffective in case you dont desire it. I even have 60gb video, yet i gotta inform you- the belief of "donning around your dvd library" and connecting it to a miles better show screen is crap, often because of the fact the low res ipod video format sounds like crap while considered on a "regular" length show screen. p.s there's a 6gb nano in the works, if no longer already on the marketplace; it rather relies upon on what you desire to do with it, and for the money i think of the 30gb video is a greater effective fee (besides the fact that if larger and heavier).

If you want a sleek design get an iPod. But if you want a good sized screen for you videos get a Zune. They cost the same and have the same size memory.

NO,OMG why in the hell do people want these stupid ipods so much, please, don't get ANY ipod at all, they're a waste of money and not worth the plastic that they're made of, check out the links below and it'll explain why, PLEASE do it, I promise you wont regret it.
