Cdfxtech, the portrait is almost right, just change the baseball cap to a tinfoil hat and it will be perfect.
The pyramids were built over a period of decades by a work force of thousands. The Egyptians knew a great deal about math and engineering.
To suggest that aliens or other "higher powers" were involved denigrates the abilities of the human race. We are quite capable of doing fantastic things if we are willing to expend the necessary time & resources, and this was just as true 4,500 years ago.
Edit: Actually, INTP.., the general consensus is that the pyramids were not built by slaves, but by farmers who were idle for several months a year once the harvest came in. The cycles of the Nile actually made for a system where the farmers only needed to farm for about half the year.
I know it's a popular fiction to believe that the Hebrew slaves built the pyramids, but even if they were in Egypt, they were there 1000 years too late. Also, the pyramids were not built of mud bricks, but of cut stone blocks.

The Egyptians did not have very sophisticated tools, but the simple tools the did have were accurate enough to get the job done. They had a level which was essentially a triangle with a weight tied to it--if the weight was exactly at the marked center, they could tell that the surface it was sitting on was level. They used obsidian and copper knives to carve and smooth the stone. To check to be sure the stone was level when they carved it, they used three pieces of wood carved to exactly the same height. Two were attached to a string, much like a jump rope. The third piece then could be slid along the string. If there were any raised spots on the stone, the wood would push string up there, and they would know they needed to level that spot a little more.
The Egyptians didn't have beasts of burden, but they did have a lot of manpower. The pyramids were basically a huge public works project. There were some full time workers, but some of the unskilled laborers were farmers who had nothing to do in the times when the Nile flooded.
They did NOT use slave labor to build the pyramids. They have found what was basically a town to house the workers, as well as a cemetery close to the pyramids. If they had been slaves, they would not have been as well fed as the workers apparently were. Some of the bodies found show signs of healing, which means a great deal of effort was made to keep them healthy. Finally, slaves would not have been buried as near the pyramids as these workers were, since the pharoah was considered a god.
There are 3 theories as to how they stacked the stones for the pyramid. The least likely is that they used a series of levers. The next is that they used a straight ramp, but this would have taken too long a ramp to have been practical. The prevailing theory is that they did use a ramp, but it wound around the pyramid.

interior the theory device of historical Egypt the pyramid became a resurrection gadget for the Pharaoh. If Pharaoh became resurrected then the persons he ruled over have been additionally resurrected. super interest became paid to each factor of the burial technique because of the fact the destiny of the society became based upon it. So the persons had a vested pastime interior the form technique and dedicated plenty of their time to the project. Slaves and paid workers have been merely use on lots of the projects, the super bulk of the worker have been volunteers. the 1st recorded strike in human historic previous befell at a pyramid website, and it ended whilst Pharaoh sent interior the chariots. The technologies of pyramid shape became equipped up over the years and the builders now and back made errors. there is one pyramid with 2 distinctive angles because of the fact the builders have been given it incorrect and the stone cap became too heavy for the backside. The Egyptians have been a river subculture and moved the stone blocks on raft like sleds, no longer loose rollers as became initially concept. Ramps have been used to pull the blocks into place and bumped off afterwards. The pyramids have been lined in embellished cloth and painted, yet this has long vanished. In Egypt they say, guy fears time, yet time fears the pyramids.

They used slaves for years to put muds and little stones to gether. In my idea, it was not a miracle but just the determination of a group of leaders who would do any thing to their slaves to finish their pyramid. The amazing part is more the inside of each pyramid. I ahve travelled to Egypt and saw how wonderful they did it by such a precise calculations and as you said such little and simple but very efficient nad smart tools. To get a straight tunnel, one had to go to each side of the pyrmid and one person to the top and they had to dig tunnel by their exact precision depending on those ropes connected to each other.

They piled up rocks on top of rocks. That's how you build anything.
Or you can believe that dwarves sung the stones into place via levitation. (links below to how it was done)
