Just one?

Hillary? Barack? That's 4 more years of GOP rule. Guaranteed.

At this point, it's all name recognition. People like to talk about Hillary and Osama, but neither of them will make it past the primaries once somebody decent comes along. We've still got a good year for that individual to come forth out of the shadows.
Same thing with the republicans. McCain and Gulianni sound good, but they just aren't electable. Somebody else will show up eventually, or maybe it's gonna be Mike Huckabee, who has already announced running. He's definitely electable.

I do hope that Richardson and some of the more credible experienced candidates hang in, not just the rich ones! If put to the vote, I like to think that some of us will vote a candidate that can win, and I do not think that ultimately Hillary or Barack will win President this election (although Barack might win in the future).

Just because Hillary Clinton isn't a far left liberal doesn't make her less credible. She's a moderate Democrat, and she appeals very much to this moderate Independent. She has my vote, I like her stand on domestic issues, I like her plan for Iraq, and I think she's a brilliant and tough woman who can put this country back on track, and deal with terrorism all at the same time. She's exactly what this country needs. I hope to see Obama as her VP.

As a side note, whoever gets the nomination is going to be sitting in the Oval Office. This country is so heartily tired of the Republicans the Dems could run Bugs Bunny and get a win.

Well, unless the Republicans nominate Giuliani, it is very possible one of these could win. All they would need to do is hold the Kerry states and flip Ohio - probably not difficult if the 2006 election is any indication.

But the answer to your question is money and connections. Bill Richardson is probably the most credible candidate from either party, but he does not have the money or the establishment / media assistance that the top candidates have. He probably won't make it as a result. If you can't raise $100 million in 2007, your campaign is probably dead.

Barack seems like the strongest candidate, as Hilarys latest flip flop of ending IRAQ war, then saying shes still leaving troops to sustain the battle after is going to hurt her after primaries (if she wins) and republicans are going to turn that against her.

I actually like Bill Richardson from New Mexico.
Hes the best candidate Dem or Rep -- but lacks the money to compete with the big boys.

I might ask the same question about the Republican field. Giuliani and Romney are too liberal to get the nomination. McCain will be hurt by the growing unpopularity of our involvement in the Iraq civil war. Somebody more conservative will end up winning the nomination (Sam Brownback perhaps?), and they might get killed by any Democrat in the general election.

The only one I can see is Bill Richardson. Neither Hillary nor Obama can possibly win.

I think if given a chance Hillary would do the best among the Democrat candidates. Certainly there are persons, competent enough to carry on successfully if given a chance on the strength of their personality, convictions and plans.

Because anybody credible is a Republican.

Because the fringe left has taken control of their party. They're liberals and don't respect traditional American values.
