The religions that have the most complex sets of rules tend to produce the most conflict in the world.
Those religions have strict criteria for the E's:
Evil, Exclusivity, and Emptying the pockets of their faithful.
Very few religions advocate for the big A: Acceptance. That's what religion needs to put across to heal the wounds of the world.

True, organized religion has inspired zealots of all denominations to make war throughout the centuries. The Crusades, for exapmle, were a series of wars fought between the followers of Chrisitanity and Islam, though it should be pointed out that there were many sectarian reasons for these wars as well.
There are many reasons why wars break out: territorial expansion, ethnic tensions, cultural differences, greed and hate are just a few of these. It must be remembered that in all wars, each side will claim the support of some higher power, the names might just be different. In most world religions, peace and worship are regarded as the best pursuits for a man. It's indivduals that pervert these teachigns to support their own agenda that drag religion into the depths of war. Religion itself may be something that inspires people to make war, it does not automatically lead to it.

Yup. That's what World War II was all about. Religion. And Vietnam, too. And the American Civil War...and the genocides in Africa...and the French Revolution...and the Greeks and the Persians...yada, yada yada....
Sure religion plays a part in world conflict. So does every other human enterprise. Humanity leads to warfare. Damned shame, but there it is.
Religion has a lot of blood on its hands, but not nearly as much as patriotism, racial hatred, intolerance of other cultures and fear of changes and the Outside.
Most religions have as their basic tenets the practice of treating other human beings with fairness, justice, love and dignity. Blame humanity for managing to screw them up.

I feel that religion is a beautiful ideal that humanity as a whole needs to inspire and give it hope. However humanity itself its creator is its own downfall. Corruption will always work its way into anything organized. For this reason I have never taken to organized religion and just tried to live a life that is productive to humanity.

What makes you think MAN needs religion in order to make war? Any excuse will do. There were mass invasions before religion. It's about POWER, not religion.

Actually it is fanaticism on anything. Most organized religions are ultra conservative and avoid conflict at all costs. It is the radical, charismatic faiths that are the danger. Most of those are or border on, fanaticism.
