Hi,
Recruiters always have a priority list when it comes to selecting a candidate for any opening. In case of MBA graduates this is how it is classified:

a. full time MBA's / PGDBM's from Top Business schools like IIM's and IIT's, XLRI etc;
b. full time MBA's / PGDBM's from Level 2 rated Business schools like Chennai Business School,
c. full time MBA's / PGDBM's from Engg Colleges
d. full time MBA's / PGDBM's from Arts colleges
e. part time with work experience from any b-schools
f. part time with work experience from any engg / arts colleges
g. Corres with work experience and from recognized univ / b-schools like symbiosis, XLRI - Jamshedpur, BIM etc
h. Other Corres

Even if your friend complete MBA through corres, he will be given less priority. I am not saying he willl not get job. He will but the competition for him is work whereas for a full time graduate it is like a free entry.

Symbiosis is a good institute compared to ICFAI. In India only Univ can given degrees others can only offer diploma's. So, I don't think Symbiosis offers MBA, they offer only PG diploma.
But, that is equivalent to MBA.

All the Best!

Market value? A correspondence course, NOT a full time course?
From an institute which is :
i. Not any of the IIMs in India.
ii. Any of the B-schools like Jamnalal Bajaj, FMS Delhi, XLRI.
You decide what chances of the market putting any value to it!

If its not a full time course it hardly matters frm where hv u done ur course...as ppl know abt symboisi or icfai u need not to explain...but it doesnt carry much of a weightage.
