For the record, christian right-wing fundamentalists have killed doctors and blown up abortion clinics and gay night clubs. The only reason we don't have more of this type of Dark Age christanity that we had in the past, is because the christianity of today has been thoroughly liberalised and secularised. The reason Islam in the middle east is backward is because it is not. Both the Koran and the Bible have some pretty backward stuff in them.

It's all about the interpretation.

To the guy who said what is wrong with being tough on crime. Do you think chopping of hands for stealing is right? Do you think we should chop people's heads off for minor crimes. How do you feel about stoning.

You can take this tough on crime approach too far, just like the fundies in Islam do.

And just like themselves, it's hard to look in the mirror when you are judging everyone else and living in denial.

There is a fragment of truth to your spin. When is the last time you saw the Christians, Jews, Hindu, or Buddhist kill in the name of religion. It comes down to how extreme you are going to inflict your beliefs on others.

The Christians had their dark-ages. The Jews also did. Does this mean all of the religion followed their dark-age leaders - NO. Many were scare of the leaders of the dark section of their faith. There faith at the time were teaching/preaching hate.

Today's Muslims are having the misfortune of going thru theirs. The problem of doing it now is with technology today they can inflict more damage to more people.

From many that view the liberals of today are just as intolerant as they say the conservatives are.

You can look throught out history and find all kinds of examples of people in one religion or another. Using their fundamentalist ideology (of their given religion) to justify the harm they do to others. They twist the meanings of their religion to suit their needs and hide behind it. Trying to show that they somehow have the moral high ground. If you take the time to research some of these religions. You will find that none of them in their basic form call for the killing of those who do not believe what they do. Much less blowing ones self up in the name of that religion. Most, if not all, that have gone to that extreme are normaly trained in that way of fundamental thinking from a young age. Blind devotion it can also be a form of brain washing. You can not find a common ground with these people. There is no negotiating with this level of fundamentalism. Many times people can not comprehend this. Mainly because they have incountered it before and their first instinct is to try to talk about. Sadly they find out that you can not talk to someone who just wants you dead. Our Government is still trying to figure that one out. The Reps nor the Dems have a clue on just how proceed. Terrorists are those who pray on people they can strike fear in and drive into submission. This does't make them liberal in makes them dangerous. It is their ideology that drives them to think they can take over the world. The same ideology we have faced before. This one is just using different tactics. The instillment of fear that we are not safe. We must become ever vigilant if we are to over come this threat to our way of life. We must stop this infighting and focus together on what it will take to, if not end this, bring some remnants of stability to our current situation. Both Reps and Dems have spent way too much time pointing fingers at each other in hopes of keeping us off balance. So we do not notice that they are not doing their jobs. They must all be held accountable for where we are now. Both sides played a part in getting us there. No matter how they spin it one is just as guilty as the other. We have always fought among ourselves that is true, but when our way of life is threaten we have always stood as one. It's now time to stand up and be heard.

A democratic society has no room for fundamentalism of any short. Every group is allowed to breath freely. Also the crimes born out of social evils are required to be nipped in the bud either by coercion or by preaching, or by guidance, or by prevention for peace, discipline and harmony of the society, system and people. There is no question of returning to dark ages, theocratic states or dictatorships. The society has to decide what is good or bad for its people. The trends may come and go and fade away and there is no point in worrying to death. Likewise the political parties may chose their agenda for it is public to accept, follow or reject and nobody else.

The simple fact is that liberal extremists are nothing more than hatemongering bigots who regularly display their intolerance of those who don't think the way they do. This happens to include those who choose to exercise their religious freedom.

Your propaganda statement disguised as a so-called question only demonstrates your hatred, intolerance and bigotry.

of direction the conservatives don't comprehend it. they have no skill for self-examination and/or philosophical assessment. they're caught on "Hate then Kill" speed. To the ignorant partisan hack who published that "quite a few environmental communities" have been in charge for homicide, you're a liar. And to objective to paint "liberal communities" as terrorist is insane. we are the pacifists, undergo in concepts? we are those pushing international relatives - your breed is the single with a tricky-on over the nuclear bomb. you're basically pis$sed off that this question is lifeless on the mark.

They are extremist and ALL extremists are wrong including liberals, which is a form of extremism.

Why do I say that? Well, the "I have the right to do anything" is not realistic and IS extremism, the "me, myself and I attitude" IS extremism! Those 2 statements are usually associated with liberals.

As for "middle of the roads" like me, I do not like ANY extremist, because in the end we ALL pay for their imbalance in life..ALL of us on this planet one way or another! Examples: the unfaithful mate hurting the other mate by cheating (me, myself and I)!, The drug user, loading up the medical system with unnecessary people needing medical care (me, myself and I)!, the guy that get the girl pregnant and "takes off" never to be seen again (me myself and I)!, etc etc etc...

So it is not right wing or left wing, it is extremism!

And like Buddha said Balance in Life is the correct way!

And ANYONE not trying to do that in their lives is just wrong!!!

Cute premise...however you seem to completely miss the point.
It is not their adherence to strict religous doctrine that makes them terrorists - it is the fact that they murder people in the name of that religion.
People 'hate' all kinds of things...that doesn't nessesarily make them 'evil'...Being a terrorist does.
Regardless of what religion they are.
Oh, and BTW, ministers in Christian churches don't ask their flock to actually slaughter folks that don't happen to believe in their particular view of religion.
So the attempt at linking devout Christians to fanatical Jihadists falls more than a little short, don't you think?

you act like being tough on crime is a bad thing. I don't hate feminsts, secularist, atheists, liberals, humanists, or homosexuals. I however think humanists are way too bored, feminists are too sexually repressed these days, and liberals too cocky.
