Well this depends. Are you into Action RPG's? If so, are you willing to pay $15 a month? Do you think you'll play it enough to justify the $15 a month?
If you think yeah to those questions, then i'd say give it a shot, but i'd wait on the expansion until you know you're gonna play it long enough to reach that higher end content (aside from the 2 races). You're not missing much by not having the expansion. I'm fairly positive you can still travel to the new towns, you just cannot train in jewelcrafting (I think). Wait on the expansion till you're sure you WANT to make it to the high end stuff, then get it, should you choose to get the game.

Get used to the game for a week or two, depending on how much you play, and if you like it, get expansion. In my opinion, the expansion is a good choice, it's actually great =)

I would say stick with the original. I was playing it for only like 2 weeks until i got boared and i switched to GuildWars! which is pay once and play for free after that. Plus the guildwars graphics own. But if you want stick with WoW the expansion pack seems to expensive for right now, so just wait a while till the price drops. lol, that is if it does drop

get lineage2 instead ;) $15 a month and "expansion" free every 6 months or so
