ive been on birth control for about a year now and have been sexualy active for a little over a year, my question is would birth control have any effect over my libedo? lately i have just not been in the mood, and i feel that it might be the problem b/c i used to want it allll the time. haha. i feel bad for my boyfriend but i think he understands. just need some advice..or w/e

welcome to womanhood. i have been trying to figure this one out for years. I have 3 kids so that is my excuse, don't fret, sex isn't the be all and end all of things. your maybe just a little run down just now.

Since birthcontrol pills can affect people differently the best thing is to either call and ask your Pharmacist -can tell you if that is a known side effect or your doctor--you need to inform your doctor of this since according to web sites for example www.epigee.org says that many women have this problem for the birth control pills directly affect the hormones and maybe some brands affect more than others and pharmacist and doctor would know. Wish you luck-also fortunate that you have understanding boyfriend-must really care for you.

It depends on what type of birth control you are on. Some of these methods lower your estrogen which lowers your libido. If this is something you are worried about or just plain want to change, talk to your doctor about an alternate method. Ask him what your options are that doesn't lower your estrogen too much.
