In the HISTORY of those 4? Nintendo and Sony. Sony for bringing things to CD, and LASTING in doing it. Nintendo because you said HISTORY. How many think gaming started with the NES? How many KNOW THE ROOTS of the Colecovision(I'm hoping that's the correct name for the first one) the Intellivision and even Atari?

As far as those go? Nintendo. They've always been trying newer ideas.
Otherwise i'm giving it to Black Isle. They opened the way for Bioware. Their games were the best IMO (and a lot of people will agree with me). They were the games people would actually play for story, not just graphics. Why is it everyone want's eyecandy instead of a GOOD game? I am yet to own a new system for that reason alone actually. Good games are rare to come by these days. All developers seem to want to do is amaze the eye. So you end up with crap story, crap gameplay, and amazing graphics. Sorry graphics don't sell games to me.
sorry went off on a tangent there....Nintendo has my vote!

Nintendo big time. Nintendo really started it all for a lot of the future companies. Nintendo had a lot of big hits like donkey kong, legend of zelda metroid, and the biggest in my opinion Super mario bros!

Nintendo because it brought the first big in home gaming entertainment system (NES) into play and people just ate it up they loved the thought of being able to sit home and play games rather then to go to an arcade

today id say Ubisoft. they put out the best games these days
but historicly id say Nintendo or Atari.
both brough about some of the best original games, many of which inspired others
take for example the grandfather of them all
Donkeykong.
three charectors were born there:
Donkey kong
Jump Man AKA Mario
and Princess Peach (also a member of the Mario franchise)

it is form of confusing to respond to because you're rather evaluating 2 various issues. steel kit takes on a greater useful recommendations-set whilst it is composed of the storyline. especially plenty each and every thing which you spot in MGS is actual. Zelda is greater of a delusion recommendations-set. the two video games are efficient to the international whilst it is composed of video games. i think of Ocarina of Time is the epitome of what the N64 is able to, and that i think of MGS is the epitome of what the PSX is able to. It rather comes right down to recommendations. in case you're into the stealth sport, then MGS is the greater effective sport. in case you're into journey video games, then OoT is the greater effective sport.
