I am opening a business in the local town and on the internet. I need to know how long they can be out of water, also. I am dealing with the ramshorn snail. Thank's a lot.

I don't think you are allowed to mail live animals however you may find a courier company that will transport them

why not mail them in a ziplock baggie inside of a hard container (like the ones you see in chinese takeout). YOu can get them in volume at sams club.
make it a policy of shipping on mondays and only ship via priority mail (should not be that expensive). Now this is of course assuming that this is legal to do!
If it were me, I would put a little bit of water in the ziplock bag. I would then place that bag inside of the plastic chinese food soup container and then place that inside of a larger zip lock baggie.
Mail that to yourself on friday and see how it works out.
I would think that the snail could last in that for three or four days.
Overnight mail might put you out of the running for a client's business.

I think that if you contact a fresh water species breeder they can provide you with the most help full information. I know that there is a way that one can do it just not sure as to how.
